Digger
Satirical dark comedy in which a ruthless oil tycoon triggers a global catastrophe and then goes all out to have himself hailed as humanity's savior
“Satirical commentary on the bleakness of the world”
Norddeutscher Rundfunk
“Ingenious, wicked, funny, and yet so realistic that the laughter catches in your throat.”
uncut
Aging and eccentric oil tycoon Digger Rockwell is one of the most powerful men in the world. Through his ruthless business practices, he has triggered a global environmental catastrophe. Ice caps are melting, tsunamis threaten nuclear plants, and the world teeters on the brink of apocalypse. Digger embarks on a desperate mission to prove he is humanity's savior before the disaster wipes out everything.
With the satirical tragicomedy "Digger," two-time Oscar-winning director Alejandro G. Iñárritu (known for films such as "Revenant," "Birdman," and "Amores Perros") sends his impressive ensemble cast on a wild ride. Alongside his first collaboration with Tom Cruise, Sandra Hüller, Riz Ahmed, and John Goodman appear in this comedy of disastrous proportions.
Shows are in German unless they carry their language, like EN for English.
