“Over-the-top satire that playfully, often crudely, dismantles clichés and stereotypes.”

The life of queer fitness influencer Jim is thrown into turmoil when Heterosis—a mysterious virus that turns gay men straight—spreads through Paris. When the muscle-bound star of the iconic "Gym Queens" also becomes infected, he's instantly ostracized, his only remaining follower being none other than the recently outed twink Lucien. Together, they embark on a quest to find a cure, not only to save Jim but also the entire LGBTQ+ community from extinction…
With their animated comedy for adults, directors Marco Nguyen and Nicolas Athané delve deep into contemporary queer culture, drawing inspiration from personal experiences within the Parisian LGBTQIA+ scene. Sparkling with pointed humor, the biting satire questions not only heteronormativity but also the unwritten codes and mechanisms of exclusion within the gay community, and makes it clear, with a wink, just how gray a world without rainbows would be.
“Jim Queen” premiered in the “Midnight Screenings” section at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival and was nominated for the Caméra d'Or and the Queer Palm.
Shows are in German unless they carry their language, like EN for English.
