Märchenhafte Geschichte nach wahren Begebenheiten über die kraftvolle Freundschaft zwischen einer 101-jährigen Berlinerin und einem 31-jährigen Asylbewerber

by Helena Hufnagel

Germany, 108 min, ab 6
with Bardo Böhlefeld, Ronald Zehrfeld, Katharina Thalbach

The film is inspired by a true friendship: Amir (Amir Ghadimi), a successful restaurateur and bon vivant, and Daniel (Daniel Zillmann), who lives with Down syndrome, are inseparable. They share everything: a passion for good food, Italian pop hits, and life itself. But when Daniel's mother passes away, he faces being placed in a care facility far from his familiar surroundings. For Amir, that is out of the question: he steps up to become Daniel's legal guardian. Sharing a home, however, brings unexpected challenges. Daniel's unpredictable nature and Amir's penchant for chaos collide, putting their friendship to the ultimate test. A heartwarming, vibrant comedy brimming with music, emotion, and genuine zest for life.

Directed by Helena Hufnagel ("Einmal bitte alles", "Generation Beziehungsunfähig"), both lead actors shine with infectious energy. LIEBLINGSMENSCHEN is a heartfelt plea for diversity, unconditional loyalty, and the courage to embrace life with all its rough edges.

“das schrullig-sympathischste Paar(...) zeigt, wie viel Liebe in Freundschaft stecken kann!”
