Meeting the Buddha
A historic documentary and intimate personal story of how timeless wisdom found its way into modern life.
"Meeting the Buddha" is a moving theatrical documentary about the life and timeless legacy of the 16th Karmapa, Rangjung Rigpe Dorje. As one of the most prominent spiritual masters of the 20th century, he paved the way for bringing the timeless wisdom of Tibetan Buddhism into the modern Western world.
Director Marta György-Kessler captures the unwavering bond between teacher and students in touching, partly unreleased footage. The film traces the historic journey of his close Western students Hannah and Lama Ole Nydahl—a living transmission of wisdom that reaches across borders and lifetimes.
Shows are in German unless they carry their language, like EN for English.
