Doctor Hanna has lost everything to an infectious disease. As an infected carrier of the virus, she is cast out by society. Hanna has fled into the solitude of the mountains, becoming a lone survivor in the alpine wilderness. When she encounters a young woman who is likewise an outcast, everything changes. Hanna takes her in, and together they resolve to cross the Alps southwards, where a life in freedom seems within reach.
With "Die andere Seite", Mariko Minoguchi delivers her sophomore feature following her acclaimed debut "Relativity" ("Mein Ende. Dein Anfang."). Set against a rugged, breathtaking mountain backdrop, the film unfolds with gripping force, exploring flight, freedom, and extreme limits. As Hanna, torn from her former life and left to fend for herself in the wild Alps, Nina Hoss captivates once again with a precise and profoundly human performance.
Shows are in German unless they carry their language, like EN for English.
